What was it like being photographed at Darby Dan Farms, one of the most prestigious horse farms in KY for the very first, Women of UK Swimsuit Calendar?
It was actually the first time I had ever been on a horse farm, let alone a Kentucky horse farm and i absolutely loved it. Getting to spend hours around gorgeous horses and acres of land was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen, even though one of the horses tried to take a bite out of my robe I had on before the shoot lol ;)
What is your favorite part of being in the calendar, so far?
The year is just getting started so I'm sure there will be plenty of favorites in the future I could go on and on about. As of now, I've really enjoyed just being in front of the camera and getting to know everyone that is involved in the Women of UK Swimsuit Calendar.
Why did you select UK for your university?
I've never thought about going anywhere else other than the University of Kentucky. I was born and raised a Wildcat and will always bleed blue. Who wouldn't go to a school where winning is a tradition?
What's your favorite UK tradition?
My favorite tradition would have to be the Big Blue Madness, it's the kickoff to basketball season. Rupp Arena is one of the most exciting places to be during a UK game, its tons of fun and a great place to spend time with your friends and all the crazy Kentucky fans all over the state.
Describe one of your favorite things about UK, and/or Lexington.
The Keeneland Horse Park is one of the most beautiful places in Lexington! It's a great place to spend time with friends/family, dress up, watch horses race, and win some money (hopefully)! lol
Describe your typical weekend night in Lexington.
I'm more of a laid back movie night kind of girl...but my 21st birthday is just around the corner, so I'm definitely ready to go out with my friends and have a blast in downtown Lexington!
Do you have a favorite sport at UK?
My favorite UK sport is definitely basketball! I mean we are the NCAA 2012 National Champions!
What is the dream job you would like to have after graduation?
After graduation, I'm focusing on becoming a Physician Assistant, specializing in either orthopedics or sports medicine.
Why did you choose to be part of the Women of UK calendar?
One of my really good friends messaged me about applying for it. I thought it would be a great experience! I love being in front of a camera and having the opportunity to meet so many different people sounded like a blast!
List 3 or 4 words that describe you best?
Silly, I'm most definitely one of the biggest goofballs you will ever meet! I have a good time anywhere I go. I am very determined and have many high goals set for myself. Another word to describe me would be easy going, I'm very easy to please. I think one of the best words to describe me would be loyal.
Why did you choose your major?
I'm majoring in Human Nutrition because I have a passion for being healthy and fit. Nutrition is a huge part of my life. I grew up with Celiac disease which is a intolerance to gluten.
Are you involved in anything on or off campus you are proud of?
My freshman year I was on the UK dance team and it was an experience I will never forget. I was unable to continue though, due to school priorities and work. I am truly blessed to have had the opportunity to be part of such a great team.
What special talents do you have?
Dancing! I've been dancing since I was 3 years old. I have covered all genres of dance including tap, ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, African, etc.
Name something that most people don't know about you.
As I mentioned before I was diagnosed gluten intolerance called Celiac disease when I was three years old. I can't eat any of the scrumptious, unhealthy foods that everyone else does. But, I've grown from this and have become very disciplined because of it. I think one other thing people would be surprised about me is I'm VERY shy when I first meet people, but get me in front of a camera and you'll think differently! haha
What do you look for in a guy? What is sexy?
I look for a guy that can make me laugh. I love being silly and having fun no matter what the situation. Having someone who can enjoy those times with me is a huge plus. They have to be loyal and of course handsome. (AKA. my sweet boyfriend)
Tattoos - Turn on, turn off, I'm fine either way?
I would have to say a turn off. I like a clean cut guy. Don't get me wrong I like the bad boy look, but minus the tattoos. I think i could handle a small one if there was a really good meaning behind it.
Would you say you are more country girl or city girl?
I think I'm a little both. I love the city for shopping with my mom and sister and having girls nights, but the country is a great place to enjoy time with family and just relax and be yourself completely. You can find me in either heels or cowgirl boots, depends on the day.
Roses or chocolates?
LOTS of roses! I'm not a big sweet eater, so chocolate doesn't do wonders for me. Buy me flowers and you'll win me over within seconds! :)
I want to say…
This has been an amazing this experience so far and I'm looking forward to the upcoming year. The photographer, David Gillispie, is awesome! He's so great to work with and makes you feel so comfortable. I will always be a Wildcat and will always love being in front of a camera, what better way to combine the two than being in the Women of UK Swimsuit Calendar! Hope you all enjoy this year's first ever, Women of UK Swimsuit Calendar! :)
