What was it like being photographed in Florida this year for the 2013 Women of KU Swimsuit Calendar? Being photographed in Florida was amazing! Courtney and I woke up at the crack of dawn, got our hair and make-up done, and headed to Siesta Key Beach for our shoot. I shot during sunrise, and I have to say I have never seen anything more beautiful! It was an incredibly fun and wonderful experience, thank you Dave!
What is your favorite part of being in the calendar? My favorite part of being in the calendar has been getting to know the new KU calendar girls! We had a blast in Florida, and an even better time at all the appearances! It’s been a fantastic experience meeting new people and representing KU.
Why did you select KU for your university?
I knew KU was the place for me. I chose KU because I was born and raised a Jayhawk. I followed in my brother’s footsteps to KU because it’s a great place to get an excellent education and have lots of fun! I couldn’t be happier with my decision because I’ve had amazing opportunities to do new things and meet so many great people.
What's your favorite KU tradition? My favorite KU tradition is definitely KU basketball!
Describe one of your favorite things about KU and/or Lawrence. My favorite thing about KU is tailgating with all my girlfriends. I just love the atmosphere in Lawrence on game days!
Describe your typical weekend night in Lawrence. My typical weekend night usually involves some kind of pregame at a friends or a fraternity and then I head to a party or out to the bars. I have to say Tonic is one of my favorites, but I may be biased because I work there. ;)
Do you have a favorite sport at KU? I think everyone knows the answer to this question- basketball!
What is the dream job you would like to have after graduation? I can’t really say what my dream job would be because it will probably change tomorrow, but I’m a Journalism major and I would love to work in that field.
Why did you choose to be part of the Women of KU calendar?
I thought it would be a great experience and a once in a lifetime opportunity, so I did it! I honestly didn’t think I would make it into the Women of KU calendar, but I tried out, just to say I tried and …here I am!
List 3 or 4 words that describe you best? Kind, creative, trustworthy, and likable!
Why did you choose your major? I chose my major because I have always enjoyed writing and I thought Journalism would be the perfect career path for me.
Are you involved in anything on or off campus you are proud of? I am involved in a lot of things on and off campus! I am a member of Delta Gamma, which has given me many opportunities to be involved on campus and form great friendships. I have participated in raising awareness and money for charitable organizations through “Anchor Splash”, “Dance Marathon”, “Rock Chalk Review”, and “The Big Event.” All of these were great opportunities and I think everyone should get involved!
What special talents do you have? I can touch my tongue to my nose, raise one eyebrow, and I’m really flexible if those count as talents? I am also really crafty; I can envision many designs and come up with original ideas. I think my creative mind contributes to my favorite talent - shopping!
Name something that most people don't know about you. Something that a lot of people don’t know about me is I’m a lefty in every way!
What do you look for in a guy? What is sexy? I really like outgoing guys, because I’m a tad on the shy side unless I know you. I think it is super sexy when guys have a strong jaw line and I have a weakness for tall boys, although I’m only 5’3”!
Tattoos - Turn on, turn off, I'm fine either way? I’m not a huge tattoo fan, but if you have one that isn’t taking over your entire body I think that’s fine!
Would you say you are more country girl or city girl? I am definitely a city girl, but I love country music!
Roses or chocolates? Definitely chocolates, I have a sweet tooth! I don’t like roses because they die too soon!
I want to say...
Thank you so much, Dave, for giving me such a great opportunity that allowed me to meet so many outstanding people!
