Model Profile

What was it like being photographed in Florida this year for the 2013 Women of KU Swimsuit Calendar?
It was a blast, of course! We didn’t get a lot of sleep because we were having so much fun, so I’m surprised we look awake in our photos! Ha

What is your favorite part of being in the calendar?
My favorite part of being in the calendar is getting to know all the girls. This year was exceptional because we got to bond from the very beginning in Florida, so I’m really looking forward to all of our appearances together!

Why did you select KU for your university?
Quite honestly, one of the main reasons I go to KU is so I can go to every men’s home basketball game! I haven't missed one yet!

What's your favorite KU tradition?
My favorite KU tradition is the Rock Chalk Chant we do in the last minute of winning basketball games. We get to do that a lot in Allen Fieldhouse! ;)

Describe one of your favorite things about KU and/or Lawrence.
I love the spirit we have for our sports teams. Oh, and the random DJs and bike tricksters out in front of Wescoe when the weather is nice!

Describe your typical weekend night in Lawrence.
In the winter, I basically hibernate with my roommates. When it’s nice out, I’m up for whatever!

Do you have a favorite sport at KU?

What is the dream job you would like to have after graduation?
I want to teach middle school English in the Olathe School District.

Why did you choose to be part of the Women of KU calendar?
I was in the calendar last year, and I had a great time getting to know the girls, going to the events, and making lifelong connections. I wanted to have those opportunities again this year!

List 3 or 4 words that describe you best?
Motivated, caring, optimistic, energetic

Why did you choose your major?
I am a Secondary English Education major. I chose this because I love working with kids, and I am a grammar freak!

Are you involved in anything on or off campus you are proud of?
I am involved in Natural Ties, which is a local volunteer group in Lawrence.

What special talents do you have?
I won the Spelling Bee in 6th grade, so I guess you could say I’m a good speller!

Name something that most people don't know about you.
I’m allergic to crayons – Yes, Crayola Crayons.

What do you look for in a guy? What is sexy?
I look for a guy who is funny, caring, and confident. Too much confidence is a turnoff, though.

Tattoos - Turn on, turn off, I'm fine either way?
I don’t like it when guys have tattoos. Please refrain, boys.

Would you say you are more country girl or city girl?
I’m more of a city girl, for sure. I like driving through the country occasionally, but I need to live nearby a Panda Express and a Nordstrom!

Roses or chocolates?
Roses die, but I still think I’d rather have roses than chocolates.

I want to say...
I want to say that I appreciate all Dave’s hard work in organizing the calendar and our events. It’s a big job, and he does it very well!
