Model Profile

What was it like being photographed in Florida this year for the 2013 Women of KU Swimsuit Calendar?
Being photographed in Florida for the 2013 Women of KU Swimsuit Calendar was a wonderful and beautiful experience. There's nothing more breathtaking than the ocean - especially at sunrise for my early morning shoot! Siesta Key was so memorable and a beautiful backdrop for the calendar.

What is your favorite part of being in the calendar?
My favorite part of being in the calendar is doing what I love to do as a model and meeting new people through the process as well. I also was proud to represent KU!

Why did you select KU for your university?
KU has always been my number one school. Lawrence is a one of a kind college town with a lot of history. My parents met at KU and were married in Lawrence. My brother is a senior so it was destined for me. I'm the baby Jayhawk of the family :)

What's your favorite KU tradition?
My favorite KU tradition would have to be Late Night at the Phog. I have attended Late Night almost every year since I can remember and the experience never gets old. KU Basketball is rich in tradition and I always get goosebumps at Late Night!

Describe one of your favorite things about KU and/or Lawrence.
I love the atmosphere! It is like a small town with big town attitude. Even though I am from Kansas City, being in Lawrence seems like hours away because of its quaint atmosphere, history and small town feel.

Describe your typical weekend night in Lawrence.
Hanging out with friends, going to parties and just having fun!

Do you have a favorite sport at KU?
Basketball all the way!

What is the dream job you would like to have after graduation?
My goal is to be in some aspect of broadcasting. I love sports and currently work at Livestrong Sporting Park where I have the opportunity to meet a variety of people who are in the field.

Why did you choose to be part of the Women of KU calendar?
I had been approached by several people who suggested I apply and am glad I did! The experience has been amazing and I have had the opportunity to meet great people in the process.

List 3 or 4 words that describe you best?
Caring, sassy, honest, and fearless!

Why did you choose your major?
My major is Broadcast-Journalism and I chose my major due to my love for broadcasting which sparked in high school. I enjoy being in front of the camera, talking with and interviewing people and just love everything about the field.

Are you involved in anything on or off campus you are proud of?
I have always been involved in community service and feel it is important to give back to others.

What special talents do you have?

I feel that I am insightful and a good communicator. I also am a pretty good investigator!

Name something that most people don't know about you.
I LOVE animals! I also feel that people don't really know me. If they took the time to really talk to me they would see that I am a loyal, trustworthy and kind person.

What do you look for in a guy? What is sexy?
Where do I begin! I love guys who are caring, romantic and honest. The sexiest thing a guy can do is tell the truth. Also, knowing how to dress and act with class is also important to me.

Tattoos - Turn on, turn off, I'm fine either way?
Fine either way!

Would you say you are more country girl or city girl?
50/50! Gotta have both!

Roses or chocolates?
Chocolates any day! But I wouldn't turn a guy down who brought me flowers!

I want to say...
I feel fortunate to have been involved in the 2013 Women of KU Swimsuit Calendar. Working with Dave, Sean, Brenda, and Heather was amazing. It was also great getting to know the girls who acted like "big sisters" to me since I was the youngest calendar model this year. Shooting on the beach in Siesta Key, Florida was a wonderful opportunity and the final photos in the calendar are absolutely amazing! Thank you to everyone who made this opportunity possible!
