Model Profile

What was it like being photographed in Florida this year for the 2013 Women of KU Swimsuit Calendar?
Going to Florida was so surreal and a total blur! The beaches were gorgeous and living with the girls for a week allowed us to all become really close.

What is your favorite part of being in the calendar?
I love getting the opportunity to meet so many new people and to represent KU (ROCK CHALK)!!

Why did you select KU for your university?
KU has a beautiful campus and amazing school spirit. I've also enjoyed the challenge of going to such a large school knowing almost no one; it really puts you out of your comfort zone.

What's your favorite KU tradition?
I don't know if this is really a tradition... but... I love Hawk Week! It makes me SO excited to be starting a new year at KU and gives the incoming freshman the opportunity to become involved and feel accepted.

Describe one of your favorite things about KU and/or Lawrence.
I love Massachusetts Street. It’s so quaint and has everything!

Describe your typical weekend night in Lawrence.
It varies based on my mood or the day. I could be working or going out with friends but I have a real soft spot for nights in with junk food and a classic movie or cheesy horror flick!

Do you have a favorite sport at KU?

I have so much respect for all our athletes but how can I go to KU and not say basketball?!

What is the dream job you would like to have after graduation?
I plan on attending medical school and hopefully becoming an anesthesiologist. It’s been my dream as long as I can remember.

Why did you choose to be part of the Women of KU calendar?
I had heard wonderful things about it and wanted to branch out more.

List 3 or 4 words that describe you best?
Nerdy, ambitious, honest (maybe a little too much so), and spontaneous!

Why did you choose your major?

I’ve always loved science and neurobiology is something relevant to everyone. (I’m also minoring in business to appease my dad and become better rounded)

Are you involved in anything on or off campus you are proud of?
I’m in a sorority, volunteer at LMH, and am a member of two academic societies.

What special talents do you have?
Talents? I’m a great baker and can predict movies like no one you’ve ever met… do those count?

Name something that most people don't know about you.
I have an EXTENSIVE bucket list no one but me has ever seen with things like skydiving and riding a bull (I let a mechanical one count).

What do you look for in a guy? What is sexy?
Guys seriously underestimate the power of confidence and a good conversation that doesn’t begin with “you look like you need a drink” and end with “your place or mine”. Personally, I like a guy with substance who can also make me laugh.

Tattoos - Turn on, turn off, I'm fine either way?
I don’t have any but as long as it isn’t so excessive it takes away from a guy’s natural attractiveness I say do what makes you happy.

Would you say you are more country girl or city girl?
Both? I love the city but I could never pass up a day horseback riding or on the lake.

Roses or chocolates?
Chocolates! I have a horrible sweet tooth!
